During 2022, RDF had fewer active projects. Even so, RDF’s impact continued to accelerate, as more and more civil servants in 12 developing countries continue to expend their usage of our systems. Online e-services took off to a flying start in Ghana where over 3,000 mining companies are now using the portal e-services of the Ghana Mining Repository. The portal communicates directly with the MCAS system at the Minerals Commission and is also connected to the government online payment service. In Cameroon, the deadline for companies to sutheir tax returns have passed. Over 40,000 companies have now submitted through the RDF GovIn portal e-service to DGI, the tax authority. This is over 30% more than last year, and late submissions still keeps coming in. In late 2021, RDF won a contract with the Rwanda Minerals, Petroleum and Gas Board (RMB), funded by the GIZ German international cooperation agency. The contract is under a regional project addressing trade of conflict minerals in the great lakes region. Sierra Leone just published its EITI Validation Report auditing the year 2019. The report gives credit to the MCAS system and the GoSL Online Repository used by the National Minerals Agency. During 2021, RDF’s impact continued to accelerate, as new systems and modules were added to existing ones already in use by civil servants in government institutions in 12 developing countries. Online e-services were also increasingly introduced in Sierra Leone, Ghana and Cameroon, adding thousands of company users to the over 1,000 civil servants already using our systems. Total revenue mobilized through RDF systems increased by USD 496 Million. RDF have now helped governments mobilize a cumulative USD 2,347 Million through our systems. In Ghana, the Minerals Commission announced that companis should start sumitting applications online from 1 November. The Ghana Mining Repository allows companies to register and, upon approval manage their licences. All the major mining companies are already submitting their production reports online and have done so for over a year now. So far over 800 production reports have been submitted. The Minerals Commission recevies them electronically in the MCAS system for review and compliance feedback. […]

In Cameroon, almost 27,000 companies submitted their tax return this year (Déclarations Statistiques et Fiscales / DSF) through the GovIn e-service portal. This year small businesses were also asked to submit and 12,500 did this for the first time, and within the deadline in May. The GIZ-funded project significantly increases the tax base, by introducing taxpayers services online.
