RDF continues to support government institutions in 12 countries to progress on digitalization. In this month’s newsletter, we will focus on RDF’s work in Cameroon.

In Cameroon, almost 27,000 companies submitted their tax return this year (Déclarations Statistiques et Fiscales / DSF) through the GovIn e-service portal. This year small businesses were also asked to submit and 12,500 did this for the first time, and within the deadline in May. The GIZ-funded project significantly increases the tax base, by introducing taxpayers services online.

DGI Cameroon discuss the new Fusion system interface, helping to automate data sharing and identify tax compliance.
In April, our Senior Revenue Specialist Vera Magero arrived in Yaounde, taking over the project from Myriam Amadou. In July, the first release of the new Fusion Version 3 was presented and discussed with the working group. A Single-Signon (SSO) authentification service was also installed, developed by RDF. Since then, the Fusion system has been rolled out to 16 regional tax centers in Yaounde and Douala, who were provided equipment and training by RDF the the DGI training team.

In August RDF also started another project with the Revenue Authority in Cameroon, co-financed by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. This will build better automated statistical data in their tax administration system. Our specialist Erika Tchatchouange relocated from Brazzaville to start this project in Yaounde.
