During 2021, RDF’s impact continued to accelerate, as new systems and modules were added to existing ones already in use by civil servants in government institutions in 12 developing countries. Online e-services were also increasingly introduced in Sierra Leone, Ghana and Cameroon, adding thousands of company users to the over 1,000 civil servants already using our systems. RDF continues to support government institutions in 12 countries to progress on digitalization. In this month’s newsletter, we will focus on RDF’s work in Ghana. In Ghana, the Minerals Commission announced that companis should start sumitting applications online from 1 November. The Ghana Mining Repository allows companies to register and, upon approval manage their licences. All the major mining companies are already submitting their production reports online and have done so for over a year now. So far over 800 production reports have been submitted. The Minerals Commission recevies them electronically in the MCAS system for review and compliance feedback. […]
The RDF Board of Directors yesterday decided to position RDF to help developing countries improve governance of concessions for electric power production and distribution grids. “Electricty generation and distribution will receive significant investments in the future, not only because of the transition to a greener economy, but also as developing countries takes advantage of new technology related to solar and micro-grids and become less dependent on petroleum imports”, says RDF’s Managing Director Aasmund Andersen. RDF will develop a demonstration system and a concept note that will be circulated to stakeholders to help identify a pilot project.
RDF continues to support government institutions in 12 countries to progress on digitalization. In this month’s newsletter, we will focus on RDF’s work in Cameroon. In Cameroon, almost 27,000 companies submitted their tax return this year (Déclarations Statistiques et Fiscales / DSF) through the GovIn e-service portal. This year small businesses were also asked to submit and 12,500 did this for the first time, and within the deadline in May. The GIZ-funded project significantly increases the tax base, by introducing taxpayers services online. RDF specialists and the management team is working tirelessly in all our partner countries to support governments to progress on digitalization, despite the pandemic. In this month’s newsletter, we will focus on RDF’s work on EITI mainstreaming. On 24 March, RDF organized a webinar on EITI mainstreaming. Over 100 participants registered and we were glad to have key stakeholders in 30 countries engaged. The webinar focused on the results from the first mainstreaming implementation in Senegal. EITI Senegal presented how all key government systems are now integrated using the RDF Fusion system, and companies are reporting online using GovIn. This […]

During 2020, the impact of RDF continued to accelarate, as new systems and modules were added to existing ones already in place at government institutions in 12 developing countries. Total revenue mobilized through RDF systems increased by USD 769 Million to a cumulative USD 1,851 Million throughout RDF lifetime. This is very close to our USD 2 Billion moonshot target we aimed for in our strategic plan for 2016-2020. Despite COVID-19 restrictions in many of our client institutions, our Revenue Specialists continue to work and push our projects forward. Over the past months, we have adapted our clients’ systems to match their needs, some moving to the cloud to allow distance working, others moving the systems back to their local network servers, as offices re-open. In Sierra Leone, the valuation module has now been introduced on MCAS, allowing valuations of diamonds and gold exports to be done using the system.
